What is the experiment called where they lyse the cell and study its cellular membrane components?

The 'family of M. with the experiment but I 'VE forgotten the name for it: It 's where they electrolysis (or kill the cell) and centrifugano its cell-membrane. Of course, heavy components (such as protein) is deposited at the bottom and lipids want the "float". And complete up with these "marks" of zebra, which put in a gel-form… what this test is called yet? Um, I think that might confuse this with DNA analysis where you break apart the DNA and that have in half of the gel for electrolysis… I just need someone with this knowledge to confirm this.
